A Thought On How Great The Cosby Show Is:
What other sitcom could have 18 minutes of a story, and then round out the last 5 minutes just showing dancing?
Absolutely nothing happens.....Denise's friends come over after their parents wouldn't let them sleep on the street for concert tickets, they move furniture in the living room, and dance, then Cliff & Clair's friends show up and show how the old people dance.....then everyone dances together and the credits roll.
I mean.....the Cosby Show was like this, and that is only ONE of the reasons it's one of the best ever made. There were many episodes that would just end with something non-traditional. I remember one episode that was just normal, and then ended with the family watching Martin Luther King Jr.'s 'Dream' speech on TV. For like 5 minutes it showed their faces only....silent....while the speech could be heard.
Classic.

Good Christmas...
...with only 2 instances of a racial slur at the Breakfast Table....but from a non-blood relative.....so it was all good.
Everyone nailed their gifts to each other. I don't mean we took a hammer and caused bodily harm to each other....I mean that all the gifts were appropriate. Making sense?

Don't You Walk Away From Me...
Anyone have someone just walk away or stop paying attention when you're talking?
It's weird.
It's weird.
It Was An Accident....
Ok, so I was using my beard trimmer to do a little touch up, and I was planning to do a little bit, then decide in the morning whether to considerably shorten my beard.
I did some on the sides, and underneath my chin where it's the longest...and even on the highest setting it didn't take off much. Then the trimmer started sounding like the battery was going down. It was kind of starting to slow down, and I thought that may have been why it wasn't doing a whole lot. So I twisted it so the setting went back down to 1, turned it off and plugged it in.
It won't work while plugged in, so I went and got onto the internet for a while...then came back a little while later. I unplugged it, and turned it on. It sounded like it was running faster, and thinking I would see if it cut any cleaner I put it up to my cheek...................I FORGOT TO TWIST THE SETTING BACK TO LEVEL 9, THE LONGEST SETTING.
So I just cut a chunk out of my beard.

Nothing like going through files on your computer to do some cleanup and come across a save rebate form for some RAM you bought. Must be postmarked by 1/4/09, which I could totally do.....but I forgot about me saving the rebate form....SO I ALREADY THREW AWAY THE PACKAGING WITH THE UPC CODE!!!
Awesome.

I Hate It When People Constantly Repeat Themselves....
But I'm gonna reiterate sumpin for ya.
BTW...I'm purposefully butchering the English language here, I mean I do it all the time but if you read on you'll note that I don't really care. Just don't read it like I'm a Valley Girl saying 'like, whatever' all the time and popping my gum.
I'm sure you can find a reference to it from a post dated several years ago (i.e. my last post haha), but somehow somewhere several years ago I started getting really weird feeling sometime in the fall. It was always like in August I just hated stuff. I think it kinda came from when I was in college maybe and just got kinda weirded out, or a combination of some other things. But mostly...it's a form of stress, or maybe how I deal with it?
It actually skipped me in the fall! I guess I didn't have a whole lot on my plate. Well, actually I DID, but it was just something that I was working on that I didn't know what I was doing and somehow it didn't get to me.....or I made it work right before I got all angry at the world. Bad news....I'm, like, whatever, totally blah.
It's because of work, too. Trying to get some things worked out to make it easier, and get the place cleaned and looking nice. And some extracurricular stuff that I really want to do but am not good at.
I happen to like what I do....I mean yeah, sometimes a person will make a comment about how I could be somewhere else doing something cooler; and there is a point to that, I'll grant it. But I guess I just don't want to. I mean it's totally awesome to go somewhere you've never been or just visit somewhere you really like, but doesn't EVERYONE get tired of where they are at some point? Basically it scares me b/c I'm extremely incompetent. THERE'S ALWAYS SOMEONE BETTER THAN YOU. In my case, that's everyone. So, what I'm doing right now works for me. In a few ways. Financially, no.....BUT........I'M STILL ALIVE. I HAVE FOOD...I HAVE (at the moment freezing) SHELTER....THERE ARE AT LEAST A FEW COOL PEOPLE THAT I KNOW.....and I can always work at getting better in my occupation.
I guess you can sum it up by saying that I don't come down to where you work and slap the dick out of your grandma's mouth.
-----------
On a brighter note, I watched "Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind" again Sunday.
Never heard the line 'Constantly talking isn't necessarily communicating' before and I really liked that.

It's That Time Again....
......Time for more long nights in front of the computer, not getting enough sleep, driving myself crazy, slaving over making TV-7 better.
I thought we were close. We were looking to work on getting everything hooked up back in Bruce at the station so we wouldn't have to take tapes to Pontotoc and Guntown, and the rest would be so simple.
BUT....there was a recent development and now, the only option we can all agree on would still be broadcasting everything from the station....ONLY SOMEHOW OVER THE INTERNET.
I just don't know. I'm assuming it'll take money for this. I was counting on the good graces of MetroCast hooking us up and we wouldn't have to pay a dime (except for the automation stuff I have planned, but that's nothing really).
I hope the new way is going to help out in the long run....won't go into detail but it's gonna be nice IF it can be implemented.

I Officially Diagnose Myself....
...As being dehydrated.
That's what I'm calling it now. Only mildly, but it kind of all pieces together.
Last week.....distinctly remember not drinking much water at all; only a few Sonic sodas. Felt queasy last Friday, disoriented Saturday, and once instance of diareaha on Sunday. Felt better the next few days then Wednesday night got lightheaded...woke up nauseus, and was lightheaded with slight headache Thursday.
Let's see how Friday goes. And remind me to keep fluids in me.

A Guide To Washing My Dishes....
....And how you should too. Unless you have a better way.
There are at least 3 tiers of dishwashing that I do...assuming it's one of those weeks where I let things pile up.
Here is a simple rule: Set 1: Items used for comsuming. Set 2: Items used for preparing. Set 3: Items used for cooking.
1. The first set, I use a fair amount of dishwashing liquid, and fill up the sink with HOT (all the way to the left) water. The first set to be washed are what I call the 'must-be-clean' set. These are plates, bowls, silverware, and cups & glasses. These are not really to be mixed with other greasy or grimy dishes unless you just have enough for one sinkfull. If you have a few plates with caked on food--like spaghetti sauce or baked beans, it's ok to let them soak for about 20 minutes while you watch your TV programs. Don't worry about your next set b/c the water will still be very hot. After soaking, you'll want to transfer these to your empty side of the sink, running a small stream of tepid water while you scrub them down with your choice of scrubber or sponge or cloth. If you have enough for set number 2, save your silverware b/c they'll be at the bottom, and you'll have to reach into the STILL VERY HOT water to get to them, and they can often slide around and are hard to see under the soapy bubbles. After scrubbing them all, rinse them with slightly warmer water and place on towel to air dry for the time being.
2. These are the not as important dishes, yet non-grimy items. These include pot lids, measuring cups, pots & pans you only used for water-based foods like beans, soups, and some sauces (assuming you didn't let the sauce mixes dry in the pan), and you can also throw in any left-over food plates---especially take-home plates from other people. B/c, let's be honest: when you return them to their owner, they'll be washed again. You do it too...you know it. If you're doing these in one go, while they are soaking go ahead and dry your first set of dishes and put them away. After a while..again, 20 minutes should suffice while you flip through the channels...transfer these to the other side of the sink while scrubbing. Go ahead and get any silverware that's at the bottom, or go ahead and drain the sink and get them while there's no water. Rinse all dishes off with slightly warmer water and place on towel to air-dry.
**If you've got more than one sinkfull of the first 2 sets, go ahead and drain the water, refill and repeat as needed. Take a break if you need.
3. Now all that's left are your dirtiest cooking items like your pots and pans that you've probably still got food stuck on. Also, some of these are just too large for a whole bunch. So, just refill your sink with very hot water, place as many as you can.....and let them soak. If you want to let these go for a while, that's fine. When you think they've soaked enough, dry off your second set of dishes, and scrub and rinse these off. You should be almost done, so just bear down and see it through to the end.
If you look around and see some dishes around the house you forgot....don't worry! Just set them to the side and get them another day. If they have food, just run some water over them and let them soak inside the sink for a day or two.
Also, coffee pots can either be cleaned along with the FIRST set of dishes, or by themselves if you've got a scrubber with a dishwashing liquid dispenser...as long as you do it after each use. Or right before, if you're like me.
For any other items I didn't include....use your judgement on how clean it should be. If it's used for consuming: set 1. Preparing: set 2 is ok. Cooking: set 3 should suffice. No Room: Save for the next time.

Dish It Out
I've got a bunch of dishes I haven't washed in about 2 weeks.
They just kept piling up, and when I have been home lately I have been using the computer to render some stuff, so I couldn't listen to NPR...and what am I supposed to do: wash dishes in silence?
No....see, I fill up the sink with some dishes, let them soak for a while...drain, wash some more, until I'm done or don't feel like it anymore. So the dishes that are in there have soaked TWICE...drained, transferred to the other side of the sink, and are waiting for a 3rd go. And there's a counter full of dishes that are waiting for their chance to get at least one soak.
SOOOO.......I've been using the same coffee cup for a week now, b/c the others are at the bottom of the twice-soaked pile.

Potential For Embarrassment...
So last week I ordered some RAM for my work computers so I can be totally awesome.
I got it from TigerDirect.com....which was having a Pink Friday sale. Black Friday...only for Breast Cancer.
Didn't think anything about it, but when UPS delivered the package to my mom and I went to pick it up....it was in a pretty pink box.
I have no problem with pink, but it kinda looked like I ordered something from the Adam&Eve collection.

ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT.....
I must say that that last post....while leaving some of you on the edge of your seat (just scoot back a bit), it wasn't going to be directed at anyone in particular. i.e. the person living with me at the time. Although...when Adam used my SCISSORS to cut his garlic chicken pizza, I did want to do some clobberin'. ---I mean C'MON......there was a pizza cutter in the drawer!
But no....it was a combination of several people that were really annoying me and I had no way to vent it. I was actually going to make a video with some animated characters doing things that annoyed me and I could explain to them why it bothered me (like talking without listening, not using a turn signal properly, the FreeCreditReport.com schmohawk, etc.), but I couldn't do it b/c I'm using my camera at the station to stream the live station feed. But I'm still hoping to do it, but since it's not on my mind as much I'll have to make a list of what bugs me.
So in the last month Adam did move out. Hated to see him go, but I do appreciate personal space. Besides....it's so fricking freezing in this house we would've had no choice but to snuggle up. I'm not joking either. I've got a toasty heater in my room but the poor boy would freeze to death in that room.
I came into some money (i.e. I got paid!) and promptly blew alot on some work stuff....but some cool gadgets and things to hopefully soon make the workflow much nicer for the viewers of TV7.
I also had a chance to make a cool music video (one of 3 in the works)...but it started raining Sunday and totally ruined it. Hopefully soon, though. It's gonna be fun!!
I finally watched The Godfather. Mehhh....(wiggles hand)
I watched the seasons 1-4 of the Office again last week. Like, Thursday thru Sunday. Well, except for season 3 disc 4 and season 4 disc 1 (long story).
I watched Confetti. Wow.....ummm yeah when a Naturist Couple is 2 of the main characters in a film you get to see alot of nakedness. Had to pause a few times to count the penises.
I watched A Clockwork Orange and Soylent Green. It's kinda weird how films from the 60s and 70s that are supposed to be futuristic suffer from looking very dated. I don't mean to sound like a person that doesn't appreciate older movies, but if the production design wasn't so cheesy-looking they might hold up just a little better. Actually, I shouln't say that b/c those two movies are considered classics. I'm just trying to point out that while older movies have better substance, the newer ones have more style. We now have the technology of the future...and it's not so bulky. And our costumes aren't weird.
LOST Season 4 DVD comes out next week.....gonna do a marathon.
LOST Season 5 comes out in January.....gonna do a dance.
