Coming home and checking comingsoon.net (yes, everyday).........I found out something fucking amazing:
Michel Gondry directed Dave Chappele's Block Party!!!!!!!
I Know!!!!! (interview HERE)
If you don't know who I'm talking about then you haven't seen me in the past 6 months. Just think "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" or many Bjork videos or White Stripes videos. This man re-inspired me after watching his 'Best Of' DVD.
So.......now I make it my FIRST reason to see the movie. Fuck Dave Chappelle.
------------------
Well......it's official.......we now have a 3rd celebrity death. Dennis Weaver, a mostly Western actor, has died.
You probably don't know him, but he's famous, trust me. My dad watches the Starz! Western Channel....so he always introdues movies. I know him.

We're Gonna Need A Bigger Boat....

First of all, I had planned to apologize for my recent blog entries being very bland and non-interesting. I guess nothing intersting is really happening these days. Also, I must have lost my muse b/c I'm just too darn uninspired to come up with anything.
But driving home tonight I did think of something real quick......but first I need to get something else out of the way.
Just a few minutes ago I checked comingsoon.net and saw that Don Knotts died today. The world has lost a legend. What's interesting is that just last week the 5th season of the Andy Griffith show came out on DVD.......it was Don Knotts' last season on the show.
Kind of a fond farewell to a friend, just a week early. Prophetic.
Also, Darrin McGavin died as well (helping contribute to the "celebrities die in groups of 3" theory....wonder who's next?). You know who this guy is.....just can't place him? For one, he was the dad in 'A Christmas Story,' plus lots of other stuff.
-----------------
Ever wonder why you have to give your phone number or zip code when you buy something at, say, BestBuy?
Me too....I don't want to google it right now, but I'm curious. I'm also curious what would happen if you just refused to give it. If you are paying cash, there is absolutely no reason you should be refused service (refused giving money to THEM) or turned away.
I think that sometime soon, after I pay, and it seems like a 'cool' person, I'll just ask if they know why BestBuy needs my information. Why do they need to know what I'm buying? I mean, they have receipts....so they know what products are being bought....so why would they have to know what products are being bought by ME?
It's eerily 1984ish.
I'll ask sometime and try not to sound like an asshole. And I'll ask as I'm about to leave so they don't get defensive about it. You know, in that "Just Curious...." tone of voice.

Wall-Crawling
Just thought I would take the time to update with some big news:
A new pic from Spiderman3 has been released..........get this....Spiderman is wearing a BLACK SUIT!!!!
Now, I don't follow comics, but from what I've gathered, Spidey wore a black suit for a while, until he realized it was the alien symbiote that eventually attatched to some dude and became our all-around cool badass VENOM!
So that just means that Spidey3 will either involve or set up the next movie for Venom! Yeayyyy!

Dont' Eat Junky.....Eat CHUNKY!!!
Tonight's LOST was great.....it's picking up steam again. There was a good 5 minutes when I experienced the cinching of the anal iris.
But.....that's not unusual for me.
----------
On my Myspace I posted a bulletin calling for anyone who wants to loan out their G.I. Joes. I'm officially in pre-production of the as-yet-titled G.I. Joe/Top Gun movie. So, therefore I'll be giving updates along the way so as to keep you all bored as hel.....urrr, I mean updated.

Hoh Boy! (LOST SPOILERS.....So Beware!)
LOST is getting good again! It seems like everyone's trust is being torn/tested leading to the inevitable splitsville and all hells breaking looses.
I will say that the show is more enjoyable on DVD b/c it basically fits together as one continuous stream. I mean, real time in the real world does not apply....it's probably only been a few days (a week at the most I would say) since the beginning of the 2nd season.....yet that was back in August. The dialogue is very predictable and you can tell they are pacing out their 6 seasons b/c of all of the scenes of silence and people just repeating lines back to each other.
Also (this is really for AdamG), you can tell the writers are poking fun at all of the message boarders/people that think they know the answers......in tonight's episode, after Sayid and Hurley heard a radio signal with some old 40's music, Hurley said "It could be from a different time.............just kidding dude." THAT was TOTALLY poking fun at fans of the show. (Kind of referring to an "oh, maybe a portal opened up and they landed in the past" type comment)
Nonetheless.....it's definitely got me till the end b/c I'm so darn curious what's gonna happen/what's going on. However......according to the commercial, next week we'll see what happens when they DON'T press 'the button!' I'm sooooo giddy!
-------------------
Now back to normality:
As of about 2 hours ago.......my brother and myself are in the planning stages of a new W07BN original show:
It'll be about Geo-Caching, which is a bunch of people that use their GPS's to find secret locations where things are hidden. It's a whole internet community out there....and we should be able to either do a whole bunch of half-hour episodes or several specials on it. We can also get road footage or shots of historical type places or places of special interests...to make it informative.
Should be fun.....we're going to plan on doing some test footage this weekend to see how it can be put together.
---------
That's all I had for today. Hopefully soon something will come up so I can do some good ol' ranting and raving.

Yellow #5
A few quick things:
"NIGHT WATCH (Nochnoi Dozor)" is officially slated for release February 17th..(THAT's 2 WEEKS!!!!)..at least in limited release. As to whether or not it comes to Oxford or Tupelo....that will depend on whether or not the Managers of Malco Theaters prefers to keep his face un-kicked-in. Myself, I will be first in line....but not till Sunday b/c I gots other stuff that weekend. Who's with?
"HOT FUZZ" is due to begin production in March!!! Though it will be a long time before it comes out....I will definitely be first in line (notwithstanding the fact that Simon Pegg deleted me as a friend on Myspace. I hold no grudges, Simon. You still make me laugh. And Cry.)
Thanks everyone......enjoy your day.

Good News, Everyone!
So, first I'll give you an update on what I've been doing, but if that bores you then scroll down to discover my new project that I hope to get started on near the end of March.....that will be HUGE! (Well, in the undertaking, I mean)
So for that past two days I've been exorcising a few demons. You see, in 2004 I embarked on a small project called 'nurd' that I intended to put lots of work into and essentially launch a career in filmmaking/storytelling. But we all know that I'm not the least bit talented and that the project failed halfway through, with me blaming both myself and everyone involved. So it was abandoned, and I went through about 3 or 4 months of depression and deep deep self loathing (I'll go back and check my blog archives to see if it relflects) and never quite fully recovered.
Well last week I got my computer up and running again, and yesterday, for kicks, I began loading the footage from the movie...actually with intentions to make a short, fake 'trailer' just so I could show a couple of scenes with some music I had picked out and then explain it was just 'coming soon....'
Before I knew it, I had 99% completed two scenes, and put together a rough opening with music that I was envisioning (b/c I had intended to make Andrew compose all-original music, based on a few song samples). Whenever I played it all back to see how it looked......I realized something: Geez, it really did SUCK!!
So, to set the record straight, I'm sorry to everyone that was invovled, and anyone who has seen any type of semi-finished product. Of course, I realize that now I only have myself to blame, and am slightly depressed now at even attempting it. I guess it was just such a blow b/c it was something that I wanted to do and showed myself that I couldn't realistically or even entertaingly do it.
---------------------
But on the better half..........
My brother reminded me of a project that I had mentioned and forgot:
After the success (!) of 'To Kill A Robocop,' I realized now I could do what we've actually talked about for years doing:
A "G.I. Joe" MOVIE!!
Now, I know there is an animated one that came out in the '80s (with the voice of Don Johnson as Flint!), but I'm talking about actually using our toys, our planes/helcoptors, and our Aircraft carrier. We can even have lasers for gunfire, a la the old cartoon.
But here's the most recent twist: a la 'To Kill A Robocop,' we would actually use the (almost) entire soundtrack of "Top Gun" and basically re-enact it scene for scene using action figures (except maybe take out all the love scenes, b/c I want to hear Berlin's 'Take My Breath Away' as LITTLE as possible!).
Of course, the most obvious reason for using 'Top Gun': I CAN'T WRITE DIALOGUE WORTH SHIT.
Besides, it would be funny. My brother really likes the "You're attitude's writin' checks your body can't cash!" bit, (who would be Sgt. Slaughter making numerous appearances) and even said I should do it written in the sky like "Surrender Dorothy."
Now THAT's entertainment.
Besides, Andrew's little brother would love it.
The reason it'll take a couple of months is b/c I either have to wait for my brother to move out of his room for the space, or until I move so I can set up everything (that way I can also recruit help).
Either way....I'll be eBaying for any extra props and Googleing to make sure it hasn't been done.
See you soon! Surrender Dorothy!

Some Great Movies, No Doubt...
Hey, people........lay off John Hughes. He's made some of the most charming (I'm not saying best, mind you) and amsuing (I'm not saying hilarious) films for the past 20 or so odd years.
New Post.......Same Crap
Well, b/c i don't want to type it again, i'll paste what i IM'd Adam tonight about my dream I had Wednesday night:
Waste Of Life [nurd.blogspot.com] says:
the 'lost' people (i was with them) saw a giant ufo like at the end of the x-files movie, and me, jack, sawyer, and michael found out that there was a city on the other side of the island.....and no time had passed since the crash b/c sawyer had a dead woman cut up in a plastic bag in the backseat of his car.
and i distracted the other two while he disposed of it. There was also a railroad depot on the outskirts of the city. but it looked like aspen or some rocky mountain city
www.myspace.com/adamgore says:
:o
Waste Of Life [nurd.blogspot.com] says:
yeah, that's what i said
www.myspace.com/adamgore says:
what did u drink or eat before bed
Waste Of Life [nurd.blogspot.com] says:
well.........first of all, i was obviosly having withdrawals w/o a new episode.
second i was up too late watching slaughter house-five.
------------
Anyway, that sums it up. I need a new episode of "LOST." Signs are good, though, b/c this week's repeat was about Hurley meeting Danielle. Which means she's coming back soon......maybe another backstory on Hurley, and possibly some info on those damn numbers.
Or not.......
