First off, I must explain that I have an obsession......a sickness. Possibly even a fetish, for DVDs. Yeah, to me, the DVD collection represents the person.....so you have to fill it with those movies you want to define you. The good part: I don't just buy every DVD brand new and at a brand new price. No, where my fetish comes in can be blamed on EB Games and GameStop. To me, used/previously viewed movies are the way to go to reinforce a collection and get movies you don't really want to pay full price for but still make you 'you.' With deals like 3 for $20 [separately $9.99] and 3 for $10 [separately $5.99], you can't help but splurge and get 6 movies at one single stop. And yes.....it did that yesterday at BOTH EB Games and GameStop in Southhaven. BUT......the killer of them all.....the Holy Grail of DVDs.......I now own:
FLETCH!!!!!!!
Yes, the Chevy Chase movie. It was produced when DVDs first came out, and was then cancelled. It's only available if you wanna pay $50 bucks on eBay.......but I got it for $6!

Perhaps the oddest part of the weekend was the GameStop stop......where I found an odd version of 'Kill Bill.' You see.....it was in a gray case and had Japanese writing on it. At first I was trembling b/c I thought I was holding a very special bootleg that had more features/more movie than the U.S. release. Well, upon further inspection (or, simply reading the back cover), I noticed something different about the film: Apparently Judi Dench and Kate Winslet were in the movie, and it revolved around a woman named Iris. There was also a special feature on the DVD with a 'Special Message from David Hyde Pierce about "Iris" and Alzheimers.' Also, it claimed the 'Original motion picture soundtrack available on Quentin Tarantino.'
Obviously.......this was a very retarded bootleg.
To cap it off, there was a 'Spiderman' DVD that claimed to feature 'Tody McGuire' and that the story took place in the early 1900s as some guy is traveling on a steamship to America and that he also discovers something dealing with Jazz music. Boy, that's a totally different story than the one I watched.
------------------
So we did see 'Science Of Sleep'.......it was good, and I may save a review for another post b/c there's some other stuff I want to say. It was however very imaginative and looked really beautiful. Also, was a classic movie NOT for the general public b/c half the time you're saying 'what the hell?' and then......it just ends. Some people hate that. Well, poo on them.
------------------
Well, attended my first Ole Miss (heck, College) football game and the very first play of the game was an awesome smack in the face.....and that Ole Miss player never came back. He got knocked tha heck out. We left at halftime, btw.
'Hoddy Toddy' is the most retarded little poem I've ever heard.
Especially when one drunk guy is teaching another drunk guy how to say it.
But, we did get to scream 'BULL-SHIT! BULL-SHIT!' alot.......that was funny b/c we just threw in some other swear words like cunt-bag and cocksucker. Just something to make you think.
--------------------
Well, that's about it......we have been recording some Nintendo playing for our soon-to-be-hit "The Nintendo Power Hour". More on that later.........
