And In A Surprising Upset, The Winner Is:

From the SP (Steven Press):

Sunday, "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and "Brokeback Mountain" director Ang Lee publicly apologized for his film "HULK" whilst accepting the Academy Award for Dirctor for his latest epic "Brokeback Mountain":

"Yeah, my bad. At least I won for a good movie. And yo, Eric Bana, you weren't even nominated for starring in "Munich".......I see the Academy hasn't forgotten about it, even though you just played David Banner. It's my fault all around for making it so bad. But, you do have to admit it was a pretty good story. Well, except for the bit where the Hulk fights giant mutant dogs. Once again, my bad. Chee Chong Ching."
----------------------

Well, anyway, sorry I've had about 19 hours to develop that bit of humor, but once again failed. At least "Brokeback" got the ones it really deserved like director and best score. Man, everytime they won an award they played the music, and I was so moved. Especially when Izthak Perlman performed the movie score themes, I was blown away. Gosh, I really loved the music in that movie!

The best thing about the Oscars was that Jon Stewart brought along Stephen Colbert to do some nominee political-type ads. You know, like slamming Dame Judy Dench, which was paid for by the committee to elect Charlize Theron for best actress and such. I can't describe it, but just picture mud-slinging campaign ads and you got it. It's just a shame that I was at Sonic and missed his opening monologue.....if he had one. Oh well, I'm just going to assume it was stellar.

Oh yeah....and when Tom Hanks demonstrated the new way to cut acceptance speeches short: The orchestra actually came on stage, bopped him on the head with a tympanny, and then the flutist shot a tranquilizer dart from his flute and Tom Hanks passed out. That was pretty funny.

I also gots to give a shout-out to "Wallace And Gromit: The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit" for winning best animated!

But enough about the Oscars b/c I know it just makes me sound even gayer.

Its bad when your watching the oscars and best animated is the only category you have seen all of the movies. I was also glad W&G won, but Howl is a amazingly animated movie. W&G deserved it though.
