So why the heck is it that I have really no time to read books, I have a stack of books a year old that I have yet to read......but when I walk into a book store I can't help but buy a book and I see so many that I want to buy? I mean, there's a whole other world out there if you are a reader. But at this point it's hard for me to budget time for reading, b/c my current 'thing' is supposed to be watching movies. But, I walk into a book store, and I'm ready to give all that up at a moment's notice. It's like a religious experience.....but my movies and TV shows are my vices.

Rebates.

Yes.....rebate offers are bollocks. Here's the deal: Usually they are so complicated or so specific that it's better to just let that $100 go than to try to redeem it. Here's an example:

I'm trying to redeem a Circuit City rebate, and here's the problem: not only do I have to get copies of reciepts, and copies of UPC codes, but I also have to verify everything on the receipts. Here's where I found a mistake: My address was incorrectly listed as me living in 'Laurel, MS 34900'. Now.....even if I mumbled, HOW IN THE HOLY HECK could 'Calhoun City, MS 38916' been heard incorrectly? Now, if I didn't catch that, my rebate would have been invalid or sent to the wrong address. Thusly, I would be out 100 clams. Or dollars.

Just an observation.
